Busy weekend on tap for C.M. Russell High, Great Falls High

The preps season is well underway and we’ll be back to update the preps blog as much as possible.

We’ve got a full slate of weekend action for you, beginning with crosstown soccer action between Great Falls High and C.M. Russell High today. You can read Scott Mansch’s preview here.

The action continues Friday with football and cross country action. The Tribune will be covering CMR’s first home game of the season at Memorial Stadium, as well as a Northern C match-up, as Simms travels to Belt.

There is also plenty of volleyball action as the Electric City Invite begins today and continues Saturday. The tourney involves all 14 Class AA schools, as well as two-time defending Class A champion Lewistown, and Havre.

It might be a couple of days late, but we debuted our ‘Prep Extra’ on Tuesday. There is this piece on former UM defensive end Ryan Fetherston, who is now coaching at Conrad High. You can also read Dan Mediate’s column on Class AA schools, as well as Jesse Geleynse’s column on the small schools.

Check back frequently as we continue to update these blogs throughout the prep season.
